Things Mack Says....

I just really wanted a record of some of the adorable things our little five year old says

1. Gold Fish crackers are called "fish biscuits"....I have no idea why, but we do get some strange looks at the swimming pool when Mackenzie asks if we are "having fish biscuits for a snack?"
2. When we are driving around in the van, no matter the season, Mack will often request "fresh wind".... he means fresh air, open the windows :)
3. At least once a day he will tell me (with real tears in his eyes) "I just love you so much, it makes me cry...." C'mon I couldn't even make THAT up if I tired!

Hair Tornado...aka...Miss.Matea

I know I need to cut her hair, every bone in my body knows it needs to happen - especially now that she has taken to trying to chew on it, which I know it weird....

but then she sneaks out onto the trampoline in the morning

before I have a chance to put her hair up....

and she looks so adorable....hair tornado :)

"How I Lost My First Born...."

As promised....in all my parenting glory!

Okay a little back story

This is the "stupid maze" right at the start of Calaway park...I hated it, which of course meant Big Mack loved it and only wanted to go in it the entire day.  Aunt Jen braved the maze with her kids and my first born early on in the day, she told me he didn't really listen and she lost him a few times but it wasn't a big deal because Corbyn and Alex cold keep up with him AND they have a lady that patrols the highest point to keep an eye on where all the kids are.

I know...okay whatever....he loved it

 Now this is super important, this is the exit, this is where they end up after going up and down and all around the whole thing.

So when I took Mack by myself near the end of the day, this is where I waited for him when I got tired of him running up and down the same set of stairs and down the same slide after half an hour.  This was like the third time he had been in there!

So I waited and waited, and waited some more......

Now thank goodness my SWEET NEPHEW came along when he did!  He went into the maze to "look" for Big Mack.  After about 7 minutes he yelled down from the top of the maze "Aunt Jess, Mack isn't in here!  He's not in here!"

Okay my heart sank...and then I heard...

"He's on the other side, he's on the bridge!  Mack STAY THERE!"

Did I mention I ♥ my sweet nephew?

So this little rascal had hung out in the maze, ran around, and then decided to head out the front entrance instead of the exit (where I was standing--rookie mistake mommy!)

Corbyn marched right over to the bridge, which was actually about 25 feet away from the entrance and (in my opinion) the gateway to being lost at Calaway Park forever, and got his cousin and made him come back.

I should not be allowed to supervise my children in public places :( 



Calaway Park - Woot, Woot!

Ugh...I was getting so good at being a regular blogger, with regularly scheduled posts - sigh...sometimes life gets in the way of the best laid plan, right?

So...our Calaway Park Trip!  We got the best advice LAST year when we went to Calaway and that was to go during Stampede....it was awesome - barely any line-ups, not very crowded--good times :)

We need to take these pictures for comparisons from year to year :)

First Stop: Climber thingy

 Matea got "reprimanded" by the 16 year old attendant, it was hilarious because she laughed for a good 5 minutes (like a crazy person) after he yelled at her, and he was sooooo mad.

HEY LITTLE GIRL!  THERE WAS ONLY 1 RULE!  NO CLIMBING UP THE SLIDE!  PLEASE FOLLOW THE RULES!

 The Thomo's were there too!  It was hard to stay together as my M & M's wanted to go in separate directions, and....well yeah that was about the only reason it was hard to stay together :)

"show me your very best...."

This is a game I play with the M & M's (and actually any kindergarten phys.ed class-but not in a trampoline!) when we are outside, usually on the trampoline.  Basically they just do their best impression of a snake...cow...horse...tornado...cowboy ~ when the cousins came to visit the favorite was....

"Show me your very best ZOMBIE"

The cousins are creative, Big Mack did a Scooby Doo Zombie impression, and Miss. Matea said "I don't want that!" and hopped off the trampoline :)

Tuesday thoughts....

I really ♥ this picture...I tried to edit it to make it look cool because to be completely honest (seriously ask my sister she was standing on the ground with me tell me to calm down) I was FREAKING out because the ride was at almost the highest point, and he wasn't sitting on his bum, and it looked like he was leaning over the side.....I was having a heart attack...because I am crazy. 

I really ♥ the picture though....

2nd Annual M & M Super Fun Summer Party

Starting last year we decided to have a "summer party" in July.  We did this because both the M & M's have CrAzY birthday's (Halloween, and exactly 7 days before Christmas) around REALLY busy times of year, AND because we wanted an opportunity to see all our friends and family before the summer started getting super busy for everyone :)

I think this years party was a smashing success, my kids had fun, and I got to chat with lots of friends :)  You can be the judge....

 now if you remember last summer my BFF Barb and I took our boys on a "boys only" adventure day to Edmonton, while we were there our "adventure" took us to the Latin Festival downtown where they had a giant slide...and the boys ♥-ed it!  I vowed then and there to try and get one for the summer party :)

But he got waaaay better...
