Project 365!

Another year means....another attempt at a Project 365 :)  the whole point...to try and take a picture a day.  With 2012 almost here, we created a new blog header, and we are READY to attempt to take a picture a day for one whole YEAR!!!!

Merry Christmas From The Schurman Family

Miss. Matea's big day!

On a warm December day three years ago....our sweet Miss. Matea arrived!

She weighed a measly 9 lbs. 9oz. and had cheeks so chubby that one of the first things I heard when she was being born was laughter from the surgical staff!

When I first saw her, she had this GIANT red mark on the side of her head (I really so didn't want to be the bad mother and ask what was "going on" with the side of her face--but I did) turns out her cheeks/head was soooo big....they had to use a little forceps action.

but she was super adorable, and the giant red mark (it seriously looked like the docs dropped her or something!) faded within a few hours.

Perfection.

Santa Pictures....

Okay initially I wanted to call this post "the dreaded Santa pictures"...I am not going to lie, we haven't been back to see Santa at the mall since December 2007 (Big Mack was 1)....for fear that everyone had not yet recovered from "The Schurman visit of 07"...I'll let the evidence do the talking.

But this year was a totally different story!

We were strolling by, and Big Mack and I were chatting about what he was going to ask for as a gift for Christmas (blue triceratops pillow from one of those kiosks in the mall) and I just asked him if he wanted to ask Santa right now (hey there was no line-up I figured it was a "win-win")....Matea was even easier....see the candy cane she is clutching for dear life?

Next year we might even attempt to get one without the matching fleece sweat pants....what am I thinking - that's just CrAzY talk!?!

I know I say this alot....but how cute are they?

Short & Sweet....and SOOC

Winter has arrived, and with it....all the sickness that I can handle!  I have literally been sick for three weeks, which in my personal opinion is about two weeks and six days too long :)  Anyway, this is the lame reason that I am giving for my absence from our blog-itty-blog.

It did snow here, and I got some super cute pictures of Big Mack....who some days I feel is getting far too close to being a teenager, and I just wanna slow things down! 

I ♥ the snow....not so much the big dog butt, but the blog post title says it all

And of course we have put up our Christmas tree!!!   Hooray!  I ♥ it, but I very highly doubt that there will be many pictures of it on this blog....mostly because Miss. Matea thinks that all the ornaments are "babies" for her to play with!  We have a VERY lovely top of a tree....

and some new additions to our Christmas decorations....my new fave this year

A little tear....

I have been in the process of creating our annual Christmas Calendar (in my mind I pretend that it is everyone's favourite gift) and of course that means an M & M page (duh), this was a little bit harder in previous years because they really did almost REFUSE to have their picture taken together!  The nerve, I know!  ANYWAY....in creating this page I get the opportunity to go through ALL our pictures for the year...and I came across THIS ONE!

Miss. Matea looks messy (shocking) and I think they were just "hanging out" watching a show on a Saturday while I made lunch. 

But the way he is looking at her in this picture, I know he ♥'s her.

Right now...today...best picture I have ever taken.

I got a little chocked up writing that.

We went to the zoo....

We have been trying to get to the Calgary zoo ALL summer, but it just didn't ever jive with our schedules.  Last weekend was THE weekend!  Bob and I decided that it might be fun to do a quick little trip to the zoo to help celebrate Big Mack's big b-day.....we did however make the mistake of "asking" him where he wanted to go...I just assumed he would say the zoo, because we had been hyping it up all weekend....nope he wanted to go to.....the museum?!?  So from now until the end of time, the Calgary zoo will forever be called "The Zoo-zeum"

Crisis averted....and Auntie Kyla & Uncle Jer came too!  This was especially fun for me because with that many adults, I could pretend that I was by myself (only once or twice) on a beautiful fall vacation....it was heaven :)

Now i know some of you will not believe me BUT sometimes I don't think you understand what we go through her at Schurman Shenanigans to get really cute pictures of the M & M's....let me tell you, it definitely doesn't "just happen"

But every once in a while....we capture some amazing memories :)
