Mama Pictures....

As much as a I prefer to be BEHIND the camera, and helping capture really amazing memories of our family, I am ALWAYS thankful when Bob picks up my discarded camera and snaps a few of me and our little people.

Adapted Soccer Fun!

Our sweet Matea is playing soccer again this Spring with all her friends :)
Matea attends soccer with our helper Karen, and I get the unique opportunity to cheer her on :)
We love all our soccer friends (they are our Active Start friends and T-ball friends too)
 Practicing our "kicks"
See all the other kids wearing bright green shirts - Matea REFUSES to wear hers...loudly.  A big bonus about playing adapted soccer, EVERYONE understands if you don't wear your shirt :)

She LOVES when Karen throws grass up in the wind and it blows around.
The hula hoop is part of one of the "skills" stations, and again NO ONE cares if you play with the equipment that are meant for the stations - they cheer you on while practicing your hula hooping.

Asher's First Day of School!

Sweet little Asher has been BEGGING since around Christmas time to go to school with the
M & M's every morning when Bampi comes to pick them up.
WE finally got him into a little "Mini Movers" class.  It is a class for two and three year olds, who still pee in their pants!  So we for RIGHT in (but we are working on it).
And...added bonus, our home helper Karen teaches the class.
 Getting ready to leave!
One last little fit before we head out the door for school!
Walked right into the rec center like a boss!
He LOVES this backpack (which is like 7 years old from when Mack and I started Busy Buddies)
A little unsure at the start (for like 5 seconds)
 getting ready to PLAY
 Finding friends :)
He had actually just stolen a toy from the other little boy and the teacher was making him give it back ;)
A little table time activity
 Asher's first circle time
When Mackenzie was his age, he refused to sit at the carpet with everyone - all he wanted to do was play.
Asher was easily distracted by cars
And Asher's favorite part - balloons & bubbles!
Now every time we get ready for mini Movers he says "go to Karen's school blow bubbles now?"
all one word.
 Waiting for Mom :)
Our big boy :)

M&M Fine Arts Festival!

Mackenzie & Matea attend an elementary school with a fine arts focus, this means they have lots of cool opportunities to create awesome art work, and do a number of "artist in residence" things every year at school.  Attending this particular school also means that ALL the classes take part in the Red Deer Fine Arts Festival.  Mack has yawned, bopped, and scratched his way through the last two years.
Back upper left corner...couldn't stand still the ENTIRE time :)
This was Kindergarten

This is Grade One!
He was so excited!  He got "dressed up" for the big occasion!
 So proud
 a tiny bit nervous
and he had been upgraded from "out of the way back corner, to out of the way middle row"  Our Mackenzie James was moving up in the fine arts WORLD!!!!
He stared off super strong - hands folded, looking at his teacher
and then a tiny little bit of bopping
 trying to focus!

And then cue the big yawns....two minute, apparently this little guy hasn't slept in weeks gigantic man size yawns
And then just last week, Mackenzie James in Grade two
Front and Center!
This picture shows 3 things:
- The school has a stash of plain blue shirts for the grade two's to wear, Mack's shirt looks like an XS.
- he is super stressed about being in middle.
- he blocks the little girl behind him the ENTIRE performance

This is his "Mom!  Can you see me in the MIDDLE up here!"

 doing great....
Only one gigantic yawn...and it was at the very end so basically doesn't even really count ;)
Hanging out waiting for the judges....he was already bored :)
 And Miss. Matea's Kindergarten class
We had a different goal for our sweet girl.
We simply wanted her to tolerate a change in the regular school schedule, a bus ride, and going to the college main stage (a place she has never been before).
She sat with an educational assistant in audience and cheered her friends on.
Next year our girl will hopefully be on stage with the rest of her peers.
And in our eyes, she did great!
