The Wolf Debacle!

Okay so I know I just wrote a post about our trip to the zoo BUT I didn't include "The Wolf Debacle" because in retrospect it was soooo scary it needed it's own post.

So we stopped for a little snack...mostly carbs...it's the M & M's, they ♥ their carbs :)

ANYWAY we had stopped for a snack and Matea was enjoying her super comfy spot eating with Dad, and Mack was ready to start running around, so we told him to just stay on the grass, and not go on the path....to his credit, he totally listened (yeah)!  He went from tree to tree searching for pine cones and basically just being the cutest kid at the zoo.

All of the sudden I look up and see.....

Oh you know just some wolves being walked around on  leashes....wait for it......

and my precious first born RUNNING UP BEHIND SAID WOLVES TO TRY AND PET THEM!

I have never run so fast in my entire life!!  There was a third "wolf handler" to keep all the little people at a respectable distance...so I know I am completely overreacting...but hello!

That's my precious cargo...who I obviously need to educate about wolf safety AND keep better track of in case any giant wolves go walking by :) 

Never a dull moment...



First Zoo trip of the Summer!

if you are an avid reader of Schurman Shenanigans then you know that we ♥ the Edmonton Valley Zoo.  It isn't as fancy as the Calgary Zoo (which we also love), but it is just right for the M & M's.

 A little petting zoo action...I'm the world's worst Mom, I do not encourage them to touch the animals, I don't tell them they can't, I just don't encourage them - it is like the aversion I have to sand, I just think it is gross...I am a terrible mother, I know :)

Bubble Tub!

Big Mack and his BIG ideas!  He wanted to have a bath in "Mommy's tub" tonight....and I could have just said "not tonight honey", and kept our ensuite as our little sanctuary away from the M & M's - instead I inadvertently (too much bubble bath in a tub with jets!) made it the funnest place in the house.

It all started out so harmless...but then everything got CRAZY!!!
