Family trip to Edmonton.....gone horribly wrong :)

We decided to take the M &M's and sweet Asher on a short little day trip to Edmonton.
Everything started out just fine.
A delightful Mackenzie all buckled in and ready to go!
 And Asher too!
He dislikes his car seat A GREAT DEAL - so this mama has to be pretty quick with the DVD changes!  And you can see the blond half of the M&M's in the background, she is usually quite happy as long as she has snacks and a few stuffed animals to accompany her.  The back seat is her fave because the boys are rowdy and she is just not into any of THAT on trips in the car :)
So we started off by going to the Alberta Museum - very fun.

All three Schurman's in one picture!  Very rare!!!
I was going for a picture that looked like they were learning about First Nation history....because Asher was actually trying to break into this particular exhibit.
A rock that really does look like it is for sitting on, but it might not be?
I don't really know :)
 Dino room!
Asher and me in the elevator at the museum...he was on baby lock down for the climbing into First Nations exhibit attempt....poor fella!
That is the look of a child plotting SOMETHING!
The M & M's pretending to be in jail....I don't heart these pics :)

Matea LOVED looking at all the animals
On the other side of the museum there was a biker exhibit.
Our cute lil' biker girl!
Mack dressed up in some "leathers"
Oh why yes...he did bring that bandanna from home!
Then we ventured outside!
We could actually hear the folk festival while we were wandering around!
Tossing coins in the faountain
Bob LOVES having his picture taken :)
No for real he does.
 Making wishes!!

He tried to be so independent!!!

 And back to the van!

Now this is kind of where "things" sorta fell apart :(
We should have stopped and got snacks, maybe even just headed home, but we thought we would "push it' and head to the zoo for a few hours.  so just in case you are keeping track, kids were hungry, we had a pretty full day at the museum already, oh and did i forget to mention there was a giant storm looming?
Climbed on top of our fave thing to climb on, which i am pretty sure the zoo would prefer people DID NOT climb on :)
An unimpressed, and in need of a nap third baby
This is the start of Mack getting a little "hangry"  he comes by it honestly - his mother invented this emotion.
It got so bad he was put in time out on the dino bone bench ;(
By this time it had started raining and there was maybe three other families at the zoo still.
Mack was complaining so loudly that one family went and his in this arctic windstorm tunnel thing (you pay two dollars and it blows cold air on you) just to get a break from his complaining!
*that last part MAY not be true but it IS what we told him :)
 Checking out the seals
 Whoops!
The SADDEST seven year old EVER!

Even his fave orangutan couldn't cheer him up.
See you next time crazy bone slide!
it was a fun day, we should have packed more snacks for Mack and not tortured him in the freezing cold rain.  In the end, a big drink of water and some popcorn cured everything!  And then we promptly got stuck behind a crew painting lines on the QEII which meant every driver literally lost their minds and couldn't drive fast than 10km/hr for like 45 minutes!
mommy was a little "hangry" at that point too :
