Our Mackenzie....

A few weeks back when I posted our last little "update" I got a comment from a "blogger friend" that I actually grew up in the same town as, she went to a different school, and I think I am a bit older, ANYWAY....here is her comment:

Awesome post! I bet Matea and Aryn would get along famously. I'd love to hear some Mack stories one day. Your "teacher" stories make me curious to know the kind of kid he is... mostly for selfish reasons because I'm sure Aryn is going to be a real handful when she starts school. You're doing awesome mama!! Here's to hoping for more sleep!!

So for my blogger friend over at Adventures in Geremialand here is a little Big Mack story for ya! Right from last week.....

Big Mack has what they call in the education business a "communication book" - so basically what that is is a daily message for parents that let's us know how our little person's day went.  In our case, our little person is a code 42 (severe behavior), but really he's not he just can't sit still and doesn't listen all that well some days.  I requested he have a communication booklet but because I am "one of those" parents I asked that  they always wrote something positive (in addition to the negative if there is any) ...because he is still little, there has to be one thing in a day he does well.

We get alot of "Today in Kindergarten I was good at ..... sitting still during the assembly.....playing in the block centre......finishing my F page" but occasionally we get one of
these:

"Today in Kindergarten Mackenzie was asked to give a
sentence using the word in, he replied....I like poop"

Yep, that really happened.  When I read the note and called his father, he laughed and laughed.  When I texted my friends, my sister and brother....they laughed.
His teacher did not find it funny....
So our favorite six year old boy, who is so kind, and shares so good with his sister, and LOVES his new baby brother.....
had this note in his communication book the following day....

"Thank you so much for letting us know about the language Mackenzie is
using at school, we have spoken to him, again, about appropriate
Kindergarten language and he would like you to know:
The robot fell IN the trap"
