A little park fun.....

my sweet girl trying to master the monkey bars this spring :)
Asher has gotten QUITE brave over the winter

I swear whenever I turn my back he takes a bath in dirt!
 Looking for ducks
Mommy got our from behind the camera for a brief minute

 My M &M's
This is her "stop taking pictures please" stance
We have officially entered into the "every stick I see is a weapon"stage...hooray!

And just like that.....

If you know me in real life you know that I love to take pictures.
My favorite people to take pictures of are my little people - obviously.
I took this picture tonight and I just cannot get over how GROWN UP he is.
My most favorite eight year old in the history of all eight year olds.
Now don't get too excited, right after I took the above picture like, I took this one...like RIGHT after.
sigh....

Our Spotlight Students!

Our M & M's were BOTH spotlight students this month at their school!
Miss. matea did great, she stood up with her classmates who were also being recognized, and she was very happy the majority of the assembly :)
Mackenzie was so proud when he was standing up with the other boys from his class, but he was trying to play it cool as well - he's getting so GROWN UP!

Miss. matea being recognized with her kindergarten friends

 Mr. Cool guy
Watching his sister...can you see her?
Both in the same picture!!!!
weeeoooo!
Now the absolute best part was the whole school did a movement break - oh man, Mackenzie LOVED it, Matea was happy she could just move around, and the teachers looked like they wanted to MURDER whoever planned for them to DANCE in front of all us parents :)
They all did GREAT!!

Snow Fun!!!!

We headed out to our favorite super park one snowy afternoon so the kids could have some fun in the sun!
Mack making an EPIC snowman
this cutie is NOTHING but TROUBLE
 this one too ;)
 my girl
Getting a little help on the monkey bars
Actually watching WHERE he is going.....for once
 Not loving the picture taking

 Aiming for Mom

 he means business

going for a stroll to Kerrywood nature Center
Asher tried to follow Matea & Bob, but he fell.....and he has a hard time getting up with ALL his gear on, which is kind of funny.
 Big Brother to the rescue!
It's more like "big brother with really great intentions but usually gets distracted".....Mack offered to go and help Asher get up, but got distracted by making his own snow angel.....obviously
Asher was devastated.
Mom saved the day :)

Quest Theater Extravaganza!

The M & M's school had some artists in residence all week at their school, and on Friday the whole school put on an amazing performance!
Lots of jokes, singing, dancing, and laughing :)
It was SO fun!
Mack's friend River had a BIG speaking part!  He did AWESOME.
 Mack's big entrance!
 His group was "the fishermen"

Mack's friend Zack got A LOT of lines in his classes play!
He did SUCH a GREAT job too!

So fun!
Special thanks to the Nana & Bampi for babysitting Miss. Matea and Asher so Bob and I could BOTH go watch Mack!

The PROUDEST Mama!

We weren't able to make it to the M & M's parent teacher interviews before Christmas BUT they have the most awesome teachers, they agreed to meet with us last week.
Our M & M's are doing GREAT!
Matea is working hard at school, her printing is improving and she is "socializing" (well her version of socializing) more every day with her peers.
Proud.

The we climbed up the stairs and went to chat with Mack's grade two teacher.  Now if you remember our Mackenzie's parent teacher interviews were not always rainbows and puppy dogs :)  But that was just Kindergarten.  ANYWAY last week his teacher had great things to say about Mack.  He is doing GREAT!  He is having a few problems staying motivated, but we discussed some strategies that work for us at home that could be useful in school too.  Now back to him doing so GREAT.....he is starting to stand up for himself, he is creative, and funny.  His teacher thinks he is super smart (he said he thinks he's gifted, we were like "yeah but his favorite thing to do is write comic books about poop and pee") and he has lots of good buddy's - we were super pumped.
Proud.
and Asher is doing A-OK right now too, although if  we had a parent teacher interview for him.....not too sure the reports would be glowing :)  But we have a few years to work on it, and at least he is PRETTY cute!
